Delta Lake

A black bear was euthanized in Grand Teton National Park in September after repeatedly getting human food from visitors.

The bear had been hanging around the Delta Lake area and increasingly approaching people.

Park staff initially tried to haze it away, tried to scare him with sounds and paintball guns and all sorts of stuff like that.

But the animal continued obtaining human food and eventually became unusually difficult to discourage from approaching people.

You had to.

And there's kind of a refreshing, I don't know, like, Sort of grit or strength that that gives you you know, we did a hard eight mile hike up to the Delta Lake and Like the first three point six miles aren't too too bad and I remember thinking Why did this say it was strenuous? But then the final 0.4 miles, so it's less than half a mile, but the elevation gain is insane and you're climbing up these rocks and you're exhausted and It's difficult to explain.

We took photos, but it doesn't really give you the image of just how difficult it was.

In fact, my wife said it was the hardest thing she's ever done in her life.
