However, the cloud cover will thicken up by around noon today.

You can already see the leading edge of the clouds moving into LaSalle County, also back into areas of DeKalb County as well.

It's all associated with this rain in southern Iowa, northern Missouri that will continue to push east and give us a chance later today of some light showers.

As far as your weekend forecast, Halloween on Saturday, showers in the morning, they should dissipate or break up by, say, late afternoon, evening, depending where you are.

Let's begin with Jonna Mack Orchard and tell me how important the final couple of days are leading up to Halloween on October 31st.

One of the panelists in one of the sessions was Trent Sanderson, Pasture Grazed Regenerative Farm, Northwest DeKalb County, DeKalb County Farm Bureau member.

If I had to say Northwest Calvary County, I'd say, well, you raise corn and soybeans, but by the name of the farm, probably a lot more diverse than that.

Steer tailing was going on in a lot of counties around Chicago.

It was going on in Will County, McHenry County, DeKalb, Boone.

Ogle.

But out of those counties and many other ones I can think of where everybody took action except Ogle County.

If you're a good cop, even in a bad, kind of a bad department, take a stand and if you have to leave and, you know, but spread the word, expose that nonsense.

And if you're a good cop, you know, be proud of who and what you are because, you know, police, good cops oftentimes don't get the credit they deserve.

Good cops and good state's attorneys like Jim Glasgow in Will County, the sheriff and the state's attorney up in McHenry County, the sheriff, Andy, what's his name, in DeKalb County?

I can't think of it off the top of my head.

Right.

Like if we can acknowledge like, yeah, here in DeKalb County, like sexual assault is an issue.

okay, we're going to get somewhere.

We're going to do something.

Yeah.

The last thing less, I guess, one or two things I would ask here is I always like to if we are talking about such a specific topic and you're talking about being localized and kind of like, you know, trying to do this small on the ground things that everyday people can do.

What is one thing that people are listening, you know, they might not be in DeKalb County, they might be elsewhere.

So you might not know the specific organization that, but like, what's one thing that they can do aside from, you know, the typical things that people say, go vote in the midterms, go do et cetera.

So the city and outlying areas will likely stay in the lower 40s.

40s today and then it starts getting cooler but not quite as cool out here near not only LaSalle County but also DeKalb County and up into McHenry County.

Spots that did have widespread frost early this morning are not likely to see it again here for tonight.

There'll be some isolated areas, lower lying spots that typically see frost will get some.

But because we have some temps close to freezing, we have cold alerts on the map.

Freeze warning here, north and west Kane, McHenry, DeKalb Counties until 8:00 AM.

Frost advisory as well for Kendall and LaSalle until 8:00 AM, so some patchy frost can be expected.

Keep that in mind for any sensitive vegetation.

It will be near 40, but with those temps getting close to that freezing mark we have alerts, the first of the season.

Freeze warning until 8:00 AM north and west for any of the counties here in purple.

McHenry, Kane, DeKalb, frost advisory until 8:00 AM for LaSalle and Kendall County.

So don't be surprised to see some patchy frost tomorrow morning.

O'Hare and Midway still close to 40, and then the farther you migrate away from that lake, those temperatures are a bit cooler, and that has prompted our first freeze and frost alerts of the season.

Freeze warning here for McHenry, Kane, DeKalb until 8:00 AM in the morning, so keep that in mind.

Any sensitive vegetation you need to protect, and a frost advisory for LaSalle and Grundy until 8:00 AM as well.

With the cooler weather filtering in, what does that mean for our weekend? Well, definitely the coldest start since about May 2nd.

And yes, this light to moderate rainfall will continue for the next few hours.

So here's a look at live Doppler 7 Max showing you some pretty steady rainfall for Kane, Kendall County, DeKalb County and some heavy rainfall for LaSalle County right now.

That continues to push towards the city.
