I mean, you can get out in Deep Creek Lake and, you know, we've got trailers here, too.

Now, I know last October you guys sort of snuck in right before construction really hit on CityDoc.

Uh, so in 19-- This is 1953 still, I think, right at the creation of MKUltra.

Several scientists within the CIA, including Sidney Gottlieb, who leads in MKUltra, Robert Lashbrook, his young kinda chemist colleague, and, uh, several others, they occasionally meet with several scientists from Fort Detrick, which is the country's biological warfare installation.

They get together at a retreat called Deep Creek, and they share information with each other.

passion and action i love that but specifically related to food insecurity i think deep creek lake kind of gives the illusion that there's not um any food insecurity issues you know people come here on vacation and they're having a great time enjoying the lake and um What is the need? How do you measure food insecurity in a community like ours that has 28,000 full-time residents, but probably closer to 2 million plus visitors? Do you have any visitors that access the hub?

I think there are people that get stuck here, um, because of the interstate, particularly, um, the ownership of Castleman, uh, Ben, um, whose last name is escaping me, uh, has been so good.

Like his whole team is so good at, um, when they run into because of the their proximity to the interstate um we often get calls from there and our team coordinates to put people up in the hotel to get people food uh the highland thrift shop is a partner that way um so i um so yes there are people that come here and kind of get stranded um but as far as what the need is um I guess the real number that are counted as food insecure right now is 4,700.

You were stuck with like Street and Smith's.

But when we would take a weekend trip every summer up to Deep Creek Lake, Maryland...

And at a place, it was like a convenience store and a gas station and a supermarket all in one, right? It was called Arrowhead, like the Chiefs Stadium, right? And they would keep the Phil Steele magazine.

This is a quick roadside pull-off off of the east side of U.S. Route 219.
