Okay, great.
N

So the citation starts off, Cherokee County, Georgia, Superior Court, Deeds, D-85, James Dillard of Twiggs County, Witness to Deed, Yates to Harrison, 1836. imaged, family search, and then the URL, access to 6 June 2026, IGN 7900716, image 429 of 658.

Thank you.

And the goal here is to understand the source clearly.
N
21:26Nicole DyerHOST
And to do that, we need to go to the beginning of the images to find out more.
N
21:31Nicole DyerHOST
And in the citation for this deed, the Family Search Collection is titled Cherokee Deeds 1836-1840, 1838-1839, Mortgages 1836-1840, 1838-1839. this is not descriptive enough of the specific deed so you browsed the images for the beginning of the deed book and you clicked on the grid box to open the multiple image view and then you scrolled up to find that this particular deed is from book d and this collection holds many deeds and mortgage books so you just wanted to ensure that you cited the correct one That's exactly what I do.
N

And so once you understand what type of source you are using, then you can record the details such as the creator of the record and the volume and page number.
