Dee Alford

Yeah, nothing really surprising on it as far as, as, as the starters go, a- and even who's backing up that.

The one thing that I noticed was Dee Alford was the number one punt returner on there.

Um, obviously they have Greg Dortch on the practice squad.

He may or may not see some time.

We don't know.

I don't think that he will.

Um, but Dee Alford didn't return any punts in preseason games because he was a starter in play a lot.

You, you didn't hear about Dee Alford returning punts in camp.

I think this scheme will just get more sacks.

I think we'll see D. Alford with a couple sacks.

We'll see Jordan Hancock get a couple sacks.

It'll be more of a collective group effort.

Ed Oliver is back on that defense.

I think, uh, Dee Alford was added in the off-season.

You bring C.J. Gardner-Johnson back, former Houston Texan, who only lasted three games, and he's throwing some shots at the team this year, this off-season.

[laughs] As we expected, right?

Defensive back Jordan Hancock out with a hamstring injury, and he's low-key a very important player for this Bills team in terms of depth.

He may not have a starting role locked up, but being behind D. Alford in the pecking order, and the Bills only keeping three boundary cornerbacks on their initial 53-man roster, If Christian Benford, Maxwell Harrison, or Davis and Igbenosin are to suffer an injury early in the year, or as a matter of fact, any point in the year at this time, D. Alford's going to be the first one in there at boundary cornerback as a backup behind Davis and And then that's going to lead to Jordan Hancock being plugged in at nickel cornerback.

So if he's not healthy enough to go this weekend, that causes a little bit of musical chairs for the bills secondary.

And if you sustain a couple of injuries early at the cornerback position, the bills could be pressed into an unfortunate situation with their depth at the defensive back position.

But I'm not so sure if that's how it'll work out.

whether it be week one or especially as the season progresses, it might take Dorch, not that punt returner is a position where a lot of thought goes into it and you need to learn an offensive system or a defensive system, but maybe the Bills aren't comfortable in throwing Dorch out there in week one, but I think it's only a matter of time before you see him tested as the team's punt returner and They've spoken.

You heard Brandon Bean talk about D. Alford as a potential option at punt returner, but I don't think that that's where they want to go.

Alford has only returned 20 punts throughout his career.

Within the division, they lose him.

Starting cornerback D. Alford to Buffalo.

David Onyemata, who's a nice little role player there on the D line, he goes to the Jets.

So, and I don't think they supplemented enough.

I think Dortch could be a call-up, no question.

But I feel good about D. Alford.

A lot of the guys that are athletes in the NFL have done that at some point of their career because coaches at lower levels recognize they're an NFL talent and they want to put the ball in their hands every way they can.

They stick them back there.
