Decision quality

So I want to give you a simple model.

I call it the decision quality test.

Before making a significant decision, ask six questions.

First, is the decision aligned with strategy? Why are we making this decision? What organizational priority does it support? Second, is the right person making the decision? Not the highest ranking person, the right person.

Where are we going? What are we trying to accomplish? And what matters most? Then comes alignment.

Do leaders understand direction? Do we agree on priorities? Are we communicating consistently? Then comes trust.

Can we speak honestly? Can we disagree? Can we ask for help? Can bad news travel safely? Then comes decision quality.

Are the right decisions being made at the right level with the right information by the right people? Then comes accountability.

So I want you to hear your side of the story or your experience around that.

Well, once again, it comes down to decision quality.

So if you look at success, success is nothing but a series of better decisions.

Pretty hard to dispute that.
