And there followed him much people from Galilee, that he might pray.

And from Judaea, and from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan, and from Tyre, and from Sidon, and from Decapolis, and great multitudes came unto him, which had heard what he did.

And he spake to his disciples to bring him the boat, because of the multitudes, that they might not throng him.

And he healed many, so that they were almost falling on him on account of their seeking to get near him.

And that man from whom the devils went out entreated that he might stay with him.

But Jesus sent him away, and said unto him, Return to thy house, and make known what God hath done for thee.

And he went, and began to publish in Decapolis what Jesus had done for him, and they all marveled.

And when Jesus had crossed in the ship to that side, a great multitude received him, and they were all looking for him.

He warns the apostles not to mix a spiritual kingdom with slavery, poverty, and politics.

When a Sanhedrin member named Simon confesses belief, the rulers erupt and the work moves on to Samaria and the Decapolis.

Welcome back to the Son of Man Urantia Project.

Initially, they allowed Jesus to teach privately, which worked until late June.

Then, a member of the Sanhedrin named Simon publicly announced his belief in Jesus.

This caused such an uproar among the Jewish rulers that Jesus and the apostles had to move to Samaria and the Decapolis to continue working.

Okay, folks, that was the second and final part of Chapter 21, Passover at Jerusalem.

Now Baalbek, as we saw it in August, lies under the shadow of snow-capped mountains.

Now we were coming into Ajlun, the land of Gilead, the region of Decapolis, a district of forests falling, alas, before the axe of the Circassian, of springs and streams, tributaries of the Jordan as well as of the Jabak and the Yarmouk, the land whence a company of Ishmaelites came with their camels, bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.

There is still balm in Gilead.

We had scarcely crossed the river when our soldier, stooping from his saddle, snatched a handful of deliciously fragrant herbs, which he presented to the lady, who had no opportunity of verifying their species, but was quite prepared to believe that she had enjoyed the sweetness of the balsama gileadense, though with suppressed misgivings that it might be only the melissa officinalis.

The check upon the civilization of East Jordan, ever open to the great hungry desert, whence in all ages wild tribes have come forth to seek sustenance from the fertile tablelands of Bashan, Gilead, and Moab.

Here, not nature and the desert were the prominent facts in the minds of some of us.

Ammon, fresh in our memory, had been already an important stronghold two hundred years before Christ, and later a member of the Decapolis, although alone of the ten cities, lying south of the Jabak.

Here, as never before, were we able to realize something of the nature and meaning of that mysterious alliance of the Decapolis, of which the origin is unknown, but which we had seen represented in miniature in the present-day policy of playing off the Circassians against the Bedouin tribes of that same district, which, even two thousand years ago, was then, as now, the check upon all prosperity and progress.

That man was like a demonic hotspot.

And when Jesus sets the man free, The Bible says that the man went about telling what the Lord has done for him in the entire Decapolis.

Decapolis is 10 cities.

The man became an evangelist, telling all these 10 cities about what the Lord Jesus did for him.

So he had that kind of potential in himself, but he was filled with at least 2,000 demons.

They brought him all who were sick, afflicted with various diseases and torments, possessed with demons, epileptics and paralytics, and he healed them.

Great multitudes from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan followed him.
