Dear Younger Me

And maybe the hardest thing about getting older is realizing you can now see purpose in places that once only felt painful.

I recently listened again to a song from one of my favorite bands, Mercy Me, and the song was entitled Dear Younger Me.

So listen, the premise of the song is powerful.

If you could speak to your younger version of yourself, what would you say? But near the end of the song, the writer comes to this realization.

Maybe he wouldn't change everything after all, because all of those experiences, the mistakes, the detours, the struggles somehow became part of who he eventually became.

And maybe that's one of the deepest truths about life.

And maybe that's why older people often carry quieter wisdom.

Because life eventually teaches you things success alone never can.

And I thought about this as we were coming in some of these questions.
