After the death of Sir Joseph Banks, who bequeathed to him his house in Soho Square, Mr.

Brown continued to occupy that portion of it which opened upon Dean Street, and it was in the library of that illustrious man, the scene of his labours for sixty years, surrounded by his books and by his collections, that Robert Brown breathed his last on the 10th of June 1859, in the 85th year of his age.

But, you know, you're one of the people in London who really understands the weight behind that line, niche cabaret legend, because that is how I started.

my life here in London 10 years ago in the underground cabaret basement of the Soho Theater on Dean Street.

And now 10 years later, you know, I get to play characters that subtly reference such careers and lifetimes.

That's completely correct.

I guess it feels like just yesterday that Piers Morgan popped her in a black cab after they met.

and off she went to Soho House, Dean Street, actually, to meet Harry for a drink.

But it made me think that Meghan has sort of become, or she's come full circle when it comes to her relationship with Soho House, because there was a sort of section of an article that Sarah Vine, who's a columnist over here, wrote, which was all about Turkey and the way that Megan got invited on a totally free trip to an Istanbul Soho house opening.

And someone who was on that trip who didn't know who Megan was at the time because she was sort of B-list actress on Suits.

She is a close friend of executive Marcus Anderson, whom she met in Canada while working on Suits.

Harry wrote in Spare that the group's Dean Street venue was her headquarters whenever she came to London.

He added, "Sometimes she just left her luggage at Soho House for weeks.

They stored it without question.

What was that shop?

There's a shop called 58 Dean Street.

It's now a cafe.

I think it's like a Cafe Nero.

Should we use the word nerd?

Well, yes, because that is what it is.

One of the people I interviewed for the book is Phil Mashter, who was one of the people who was running 58 Dean Street.

And he himself uses that word.

So we saw two things at this point.

It was the Soho Theatre and Dean Street.

I just love that thing.

I love that.

Dean Street is a street in Soho's central London, running from Oxford Street south to Shaftesbury Avenue.

It crosses Old Compton Street and is linked to Frith Street by Bateman Street.

Dean Street was built in 1681 in what was then open countryside.

So happy 40th birthday to Ilario.

He's doing a special celebration jazz show at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Dean Street in Soho on the 5th of September.

But in sadder news, Watford Jazz Junction have learned that, unfortunately, they will have no Arts Council funding for 2027.

That's the second year in a row.

It was a fellow called Crowther.

He lived in Dean Street, Soho.

In a window on the ground floor there was a card with sums from one pound to a hundred lent at short notice.

I was lucky enough to find him at home.

Most of that day I spent in bed.

I didn't feel myself, yet it was still a great satisfaction to me that I had got the better of that brute.

On Monday at twelve I kept the appointment in Dean Street.

Crowther hadn't come in, and I sat for a few minutes quaking.

... again, stretched out to full capacity, I thought I would go to an agency just so that when I went home, I could honestly say I tried, but nobody wanted me [laughs] because they couldn't understand why I'd been to a good college, I had all these qualifications, and nobody wanted me.

So I went to the Alfred Marks Bureau in Soho Square, just around the corner from my usual coffee bar, Les Enfants Terribles in Dean Street.

Nice.

And it was about five to 5:00.
