Dead

Some psychiatrists have noted that this syndrome generally lasts for days, maybe weeks, and the cases that last for months or years are much more rare.

Another possible modern case: it's been speculated that Per Yngve Ohlin, also known as Dead, had this syndrome, and he was the lead vocalist of the black metal bands Mayhem and Morbid in the 1980s.

His bandmate mentioned he had been pronounced clinically dead after being assaulted by bullies as a kid.

And ever since, he apparently believed he was dead, hence the stage name Dead.

We mentioned on our last episode that someone that we know, or my wife knows, I should say, the Spooky Kisses podcast, the Celebrity Scare Show on YouTube, just did their first episode with Ken Foree.

You all know him from the original Dawn of the Dead.

Shit, he was in Texas Chainsaw 3.

Yeah.

That was his goal.

Uh-huh.

Dead, who he liked to call himself, was from a band called Morbid.

And joined Mayhem.
