And the Catechism begins with the first thing we must know, that we just read about, our misery.

Now Lord's Day two, what comes just before this, begins with how we know our misery, by looking to the law of God.

Now these first few Lord's Days are tough.

In fact, you might be questioning, why would somebody who's coming for an evening service just pick this Lord's Day to talk about? [laughs] These are not exactly happy topics, are they? They're necessary.

They're true.

But I think we all wanna get from the bad news to the good news.

I feel a pull to just rush through this to get to the good news.

That's one of the reasons these first few Lord's Days, the guilt section of the Catechism, is difficult.

Del, of the.

Día, day.

So as I said, you'll see menú del día all over Colombia.

It's, it's basically a set meal that's being served that day, and it's usually a really affordable way to get a big Colombian lunch.

It was Kevin's birthday.

So O'Day raised his shot glass and shouted happy birthday in Spanish over the pounding dance music, and then the two young men slammed back their drinks.

O'Day had moved to Antwerp, Belgium from Spain about six months earlier when he had gotten a job as a computer engineer.

When he'd arrived, he hadn't known anybody.

But he'd met Kevin at a beer festival and the two of them had gotten along right away.

And Kevin was from the area.

So he'd introduced O'Day to a bunch of his friends and shown him the best spots to hang out in the city.

And the two had gotten very close very quickly.

Okay.

I've already submitted a story this month, but it wasn't really exciting, so I decided to share this one with you as well.
