Dawson Pendergrass

So I think it's important to note that, okay, you do get some pressure on DJ Lagway.

Kansas could potentially be in this game, and I think that's important, right? Like I said, they do have Dawson Pendergrass, who's a nice little running back for them.

90 carries, 327 yards, does have a touchdown on the season.

Caden Knighton, 59 carries, 279 yards.

And then Rylan Morris, probably not going to see a lot of him, but maybe you will.

30 carries, 207.

It's a deep running back room, kind of spread out a little bit in terms of yards, but Dawson Pendergrass is that number one guy, sort of the bell cow, if you will.

And then on the receiving side of things, Gavin Freeman transfers from Oklahoma, and then Oklahoma State did the sinful thing, and then now he's at Baylor down in Waco.

I know Jaden Craig got away with a couple things, and man, ultimately the pass defense could have been better, but there's just no world.

There's no world where TCU scores 17 points and you don't outclass them with an offense like Baylor's has with guys like Gavin Freeman, DJ Lagway, Caden Knighton, or Dawson Pendergrass.

And in this context, the hand of Dave Aranda being held to the fire is completely necessary.

And Dave Miranda made a point to get him into the rotation of the backfield more over the past couple of weeks.

So that's making the, the running game elevate, and then you always have Dawson Pendergrass who's gonna get like four yards like a bang.

Like every single time he touches the rock, he's gonna get like four yards.

So having that consistency with some explosive playmakers on the outside, and then even when DJ wasn't even the ga- in the game, you had Nate Bennett who just, the offense was so wide open.

Ironically, TCU is third.

Um, and so if this comes down to like, well, both defenses are pretty solid, which offense do you trust more? Give me Jake Spavital and DJ Lagway and Dawson Pendergrass over Gordon Sams and Jaden Craig and, you know, um, uh, that running game for TCU.

So I'm leaning Baylor here.

Now, we don't need to talk about how Dawson Pendergrass didn't really pop off.

I really do think the kind of way you're going to find the rest of the season is that Rylan Morris is is going to be your explosive guy, and I think Pendergrass is going to be more of your bell cow.

None of that is surprising to you, and it shouldn't be.

I'll get to them a little bit later.

And then Baylor, Baylor's on a bye, but I think it's worth noting that running back Dawson Pendergrass, only one touchdown this year, he's gotten a decent workload this year.

I'm just concerned he's not finding the end zone, and I just don't know if many fantasy owners are, are holding onto him right now and have probably moved on, spe- especially with Baylor being on a bye week, freeing up a roster spot, trying to get a back that they can, that can produce for them a little bit more on a consistent basis.

And then when you get the consistency, that's what we look for in receivers, right? And then Jordan Dwyer, TCU receiver, remember he was, like, top 15, 20 preseason fantasy receiver.

And, like, give this guy the ball and he's just gonna kinda go.

And Baylor, Dawson Pendergrass is great.

Kaden Knighton is great.

Uh, Michael Turner is great.

Uh, you know, like I don't know if, you know, he's like 185 pounds.

He's a true freshman in his first college season.

Like I worry, I, I don't think he's got the durability of Dawson Pendergrass or Cade Knighton, especially Dawson, who I know left that game a little bit but came back late and wasn't really relied ...

So I don't know, I don't know if Dawson is 100% at this point, but that's something to monitor moving forward.
