[outro jingle] Thanks very much, Calum, for talking us through that.

Thanks, David.
James HughesHOST

And then climate change.
James HughesHOST

David brought some people up onto the stage to interview.
James HughesHOST

James HughesHOST

We pitch as the longevity dividend.
James HughesHOST
15:46
And there was some discussion.
James HughesHOST
15:48
Well, we had Aubrey de Grey as one of the folks that David Wood interviewed, and he talked about, you know, the fact that his timelines used to be more optimistic about progress towards longevity escape velocity, but that basically he blames everything on the lack of funding.
James HughesHOST
16:05
If you've just given us the money, we could have gotten there.
Marcus Aurelius AndersonHOST
1:55
And speaking of that, I want to just start with what led you into not just the podcast, but you started with this idea.
Marcus Aurelius AndersonHOST
2:05
David Wood was your first guest and there are rarely accidents.
Marcus Aurelius AndersonHOST
2:08
Was he a person that you needed permission from to be able to kind of do what you wanted to do at a very big level? Or was this something that gave you inspiration once you had that first conversation with him to get the ball rolling with what you're doing now?
Leigh MartinuzziGUEST
2:21
Ah, how deep do you want to go? Yeah.
Leigh MartinuzziGUEST
3:25
I've got three older brothers and he's my closest.
Leigh MartinuzziGUEST
3:28
In age, we're closest, so we spend a lot of time growing up together.
Leigh MartinuzziGUEST
3:31
Anyway, so he was going through this dark spot and he was listening to this podcast from David T.S. Wood.
Leigh MartinuzziGUEST
3:38
And I was like, okay, cool.

56:42
Where have you sold what, Bruno Faleck?
Dan ThomasHOST
56:48
if we switch then I mean I'm going to draw a line under the city thing now very good discussion very enjoyable and quite cathartic to be honest Julian Ward has been reappointed as the sporting director it was rumoured for quite a few weeks that that was going to be the case apparently we did speak to the chap here at Brentford as well whose name escapes me right now Lee
Paul NattonGUEST
57:11
something or other
Dan ThomasHOST
57:13
yeah that's the one Lee Tykes is it
John GallagherGUEST
59:25
in the life for possibly fsg selling up and just to keep things ticking over if you like um until that eventually happens but yeah it is a very safe may appointment um yeah i mean the brent the brent for fella oh you know we were linked to that would have been exciting because obviously the way brentford uh operates it's how i want us to operate um on obviously a bit of a bigger scale of course but the core values of how they operate, that's how I'd like us to operate.
John GallagherGUEST
59:59
But yeah, obviously, what's that
Paul NattonGUEST
60:01
sporting director, David Wood, what's his name, Woodfine? David Woodfine.
John GallagherGUEST
60:06
Woodfine, yeah, yeah.
Conor CrosbieHOST

And I do agree to an extent that Slot was used as an easy target or scapegoat to be like, well... you don't think they're getting away with it, and it's all on the manager, like, yes, a lot of it was on the manager, but it wasn't all on the manager, so, I am rambling now, but do let me know in your comments below all of this, and what you think of Jamie Carragher's comments, who needs to be stepping up more this season, and, yeah, just your general thoughts on Liverpool at the minute, because I know we're getting back to our better self, and we're getting back to some sort of positivity, but I would like a little bit more as well, so, do let me know in the comments below what you think of all this.
Conor CrosbieHOST
9:57
In saying that though, and look to make a final point on all this, I think, Carragher is definitely on to something not with the spending of money but I think it's just like the profile of players we've been getting and like just the general squad planning so I hope the next sporting director can do a better job I am glad to see the back of Richard Hughes hopefully we'll see an appointment that kind of shakes up a bit like I know some of the main technical analysts and stuff have gone with Richard Hughes with Audi it's looking like it'll be an internal candidate someone like Pedro Marquez or Julian Ward, maybe, I don't know who else, there's probably some sort of intern, maybe David Wood finally steps up from the Assistant Sporting Director role, but hopefully in the future we can see just a better fleshing out of the squad, particularly with new ownership coming in as well, maybe we can spend a bit more frivolously in terms of all positions rather than just going big.
Conor CrosbieHOST
10:41
on the front and then not having the budget for the rest of the players so hopefully a brighter future ahead of us and yeah i'm just i'm rambling i am rambling now so i will end this video thank you very much for watching hit the subscribe button if you want to see more ferry content of course and um yeah lewis will have plenty of videos out on here we have plenty of videos out on the main channel today as well uh craig will be live this evening and the boardman preview should be coming out tomorrow morning as well so thank you very much for watching this video and i'll see you very very soon
