Was there a permit issued by DFO for this gravel extraction?
4:12
That's a very good question, but from everything that we can determine, no.
4:17
So what happened was the company made a proposal to Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
4:24
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, they asked for a review of what was being proposed.
4:31
Now, Fisheries and Oceans Canada would normally conduct a review and determine what if there was going to be what they call a harmful alteration, disruption, or destruction of fish habitat.
4:43
And if that was the case, they would get the proponent to then apply for a permit under the Fisheries Act.
4:51
But in this case, somebody at DFO determined, well, if you follow the guidance of your qualified environmental professional who has submitted a report to us, this would not cause a harmful alteration, disruption or destruction.

So what are the broader issues here beyond Norrish Creek?
