Like, David could do the design stuff but he, you know, the second he said, "Hey, we should change this song," or, "We should do this," and that just made the process even worse for him.

He had become famous doing paintings of pin-up girls for Esquire and Playboy in the 1950s and '60s.

Cars' drummer David Robinson had the idea to use Vargas to paint their cover.

This painting features 32-year-old model Candy Moore sprawled across a Ferrari during a 1979 shoot at an LA dealership.

Candy had played Lucille Ball's onscreen daughter in The Lucy Show, and after the photo shoot, she briefly dated Cars' drummer Robinson.
