If I had to pick one closer since Mariano Rivera to shut down a game, I'd probably pick David Robertson.

Yeah, and, you know, you could argue that it was the biggest reason they lost to the Dodgers last year and certainly to the Mets in 2024 and even to the Diamondbacks in the NLCS the year before in 23.

And those bullpens at the very least had experience with, you know, depending on the year, David Robertson and Matt Strom and Hoffman and Craig Kimbrell.

And this group, like the guy that Don Mattingly has the most confidence in before Duran is Alex McFarlane, and he was in AA at the All-Star break.

Dave Dombrowski has said the Phillies will use at least one, maybe two starters in the bullpen in the wildcard series.

Two for five, the two doubles, two RBIs in this one, and boy, Francisco Alvarez loves playing in Texas and he loves playing in this park.

Back in 2024, the Mets played a three-game series in here, and if you will remember in that series, Francisco Alvarez hit a huge game tying two RBI double off of former Met David Robertson in that game.

The Mets were trailing six to four in the top of the eighth, and he had the big hit in that one to help get them back in it.

They ended up winning that game.

Like if they are going to go on a run this postseason, he's going to have to probably pitch multiple innings, like an up-down situation.

Last year in October, they did an up-down with David Robertson.

It reminds me of David Robertson a few years ago in 23 when the Mets decided to trade him at the trade deadline.

That was like their first significant sell move.

And Robertson was awesome for the Mets in that first half of the season, filling in for Diaz.

He's hemmed in and dropped at the 25-yard line, which is the line of scrimmage.

Dave Robertson, number 89. completely hemming him in over there and bringing him down.
