One year later, the great Alaskan exploratory climber David Roberts put together an expedition to go and specifically climb Kachatna Spire.

And David's

trip was somewhat inspired by this initial foray, right?

I'm sure they all talked about it and shared photos and everything else and tried to figure out, okay, how could you climb this mountain? So two climbers, Art Davidson and Rick Milliken, made the first ascent of Kachatna Spire in September 1966.

It's very late in the year.

As of this summer, 2026, it's been 60 years since that first ascent of the Kachatna Mountains titular spire by David Roberts' expedition.
