David Ring

The Pharisees were gathered together.

In other words, before the crowd dissipates, Jesus asked them, saying, Yesterday, Bert, we had a question about the lineages of Jesus through Joseph and through Mary, and yes, indeed, Jesus Christ humanly is a descendant of King David.

And so Jesus says, How then does David in spirit call him Lord, or by the Spirit, really, call him Lord, saying, and then verse 44 is from Psalm 110, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.

If David then calls him Lord, L-O-R-D, how is he his son? And no man was able to answer.

Okay.

See, the answer, and I'll let you take it away, Matthew 22, 46, the answer is the incarnation.

That while Jesus took on a human body, and he began his ministry at age 30, and David, King David, had lived... a thousand years prior, and yet Jesus, being God incarnate, is infinitely older.

Micah 5.2, the one born in Bethlehem, his goings forth had been from old, from everlasting.

He's going to make you doubt that you can actually accomplish what God has called you to do.

But I think of David Ring, the famous preacher who had cerebral palsy, saying in a sermon I listened to just yesterday, in fact, he said, I remember lying in my bed, minding my own business.

When God called me to preach, I reminded God that it was hard for me to communicate and the people had a hard time listening to me because I have cerebral palsy, he said.

God knew what he had.

And that's exactly what God did.

And now he is sharing the gospel with people all over the world.

And people don't even think about David Ring's obstacle now of cerebral palsy.

They think about his commitment to doing what God wanted him to do.
