Just like so many of these chapters in 1 Kings and 2 Kings, we just see the sinfulness of God's people and the sinfulness of their leaders and just rampant evil and wickedness and immorality and idolatry, and yet God is merciful and gracious.

The Lord was not willing to destroy Judah.

Who through the mouth of our father David, your servant, said by the Holy Spirit, Why did the Gentiles rage and the people's plot in vain? The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord and against the anointed.

Jesus says, Keep going.

I love this verse, this story of God's provision of oil for this widow through Elisha.

And she's told to go out and get as many vessels as she can from all her neighbors, empty vessels and not too few.
