David Platt

He hasn't played well all season, really.

But, you know, what made him so special last season was his ability to pop up with a goal, almost like a David Platt, if you know what I mean, you know, just come up and score.

score score important vital one-touch goals he's done it again I just hope that gives him a little bit of a boost now to go on and and do that more often and Oli I think from his comments and what he said when he was injured last season you can tell he's a confidence player and he wants to be loved just one last thing before we go into the ongoing questions and you talked about the work rate and I think that's our USP.

I mean, I still think there's a lot of teams in the Championship, like Middlesbrough, who love a bit of possession.

Archie Collins, yeah.

um it was you know you said at the beginning um the worst thing for you is you know against us was to um concede a goal against a team that doesn't concede them so it's kind of going for us it's the reverse as we concede a goal early and we haven't been scarring them and that's essentially what happened you know third minute Ball comes in, centre-back, overhead kick, puts it in the back of the net, you know, like he's David Platt or something.

Bloody

hell.

That obviously wasn't Roberto Mancini.

That was his assistant, David Platt, speaking before a 5-2 League Cup win at Molineux.

Three days later, City beat Wolves 3-1 at the Etihad in the league.

Then, later in the season, City had back-to-back games with Porto in the Europa League.

player.

So I remember when David Platt, not so much when he went to Bar 8, there was a season where David Platt moved to Juventus.

And they had more than three foreigners.

So they could only play three, but Platt would essentially like come in for one of those three.

There was people like David Hirst and Chris Waddle and yourself and Paolo Di Canio, and then y- the W- Wednesday have, have been sort of on a downward spiral unfortunately for a, for a long time since then, but what was it like being at Sheffield Wednesday in the 1990s?

It, that's what, what, that is good point because, uh, when I, uh, I, I come to Sheffield, uh, David Platt still play.

David Platt was, uh, was a legend.

Is Scotty I'm, I'm, are talking about, um, the, David, uh-

David Hirst, yeah

Um, hmm.

David Platt?

Alan Shearer.

Ah.

Yeah.

Uh, yeah, David Platt also went there.

Uh, yeah-

Gary Lineker played there, no?
