David Patrick Kelly

[laughs] Um, and he's so good in...

I mean, I don't know why we're p- talking about David Patrick Kelly now that-

'Cause he's awesome

... there's nothing to do with Class of 1984.

That is a really good dad joke slash action one liner.

Did you recognize the actor who played Sully? David Patrick Kelly is his name.

Did you recognize him, Al?

I didn't.

But I think that this film is exactly what you think it is.

It's kind of humorous.

His strength is... bordering on on supernatural like for example the uh director had wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger to hold David Patrick Kelly Sully by his ankle over a cliff and Arnold was like are you insane so they wound up using a you know crane wire while he's just holding his ankle but I physically believe that John Matrix can do that with his bad

arm

Two of them are horror movies, but if you look at director Shane Carruth's Wikipedia, he's kind of a monster, so I think Upstream Color is a nice fit between Th13 Ghost from 2001 and 2019's VFW, starring everybody's '70s second-tier action heroes.

We're talking Steven Lang, David Patrick Kelly, George Wendt, Fred Williamson, Martin Kove.

I think I've got them all nailed there.

Oh, and, uh, William Sadler, so do not want to forget about him for my good buddy Brian Plato from the NOLA Film Scene Podcast.

Like, the first time I watched it, you know, it was just fun seeing old supporting actors kick ass.

So this film's about a VFW hall that's just minding their own business when a young woman with a bag full of superheroine that she stole as vengeance for the dealer killing her sister.

And as she enters, basically drugged-up zombies come to attack the VFW hall, and it's up to Stephen Lang to lead his platoon featuring Fred Williamson from From Dusk Till Dawn and MASH, William Sadler from Die Hard 2, David Patrick Kelly from Commando and The Warriors, George Wendt from Cheers, and Martin Cove, best known for his work in the Karate Kid franchise.

So that sums up what the movie is.

we'll find out yeah i was

like they're both children but also who cares David Patrick Kelly as Jerry Horn.

Robert Knepper as Rodney Mitchum.

I'm trying to think.

This episode originally aired on Showtime July 16th, 2017.

It was written by David Lynch and Mark Frost and directed by David Lynch.

I'm Baxter.

I'm Amy.

It really stretched the boundaries of what you could do.

Maybe that's why I was afraid of the return, because I'm like, oh, God, there are no boundaries.

You know David Lynch is like a real cosmic weirdo.

I

Played by

David Patrick Kelly.

The same one Warriors come out and play.

Which, by the way, he's named Luther in that movie.
