There's been plenty of insiders who say that, yeah, Greenberg was probably the guy.

Dave Pagnotta said that.

Is it smart to hire somebody who's been working in baseball strictly for the last decade or whatever to run a hockey team? Did the search firm really come up with the best candidate already being in the building? Like there's so many questions and not enough time to really go deep on any of them.

This has been a really awesome discussion.

So let's dive right into it with the first report.

He said that Connor Halbach, you know, those trade conversations, they're supposed to pick up this week with days ago before Jets training camp.

Reports suggest the team would prefer to resolve the issues beforehand.

Yeah.

So Dave Pagnotta is our insider, so he comes in, he talks about some of the news, the rumors, uh, that have been happening.

So for example, you know, back in the 1260 days when we started, Pags was talking about expansion.

Yes.

They trade him along with a sixth-round pick and a fourth-round pick to the Leafs for the first in 2027 and Nikita Grebyonkin.

And since we're talking about that, uh, I asked you before the show started because I'm driving in today, I'm listening to yester- yesterday's Marrick show, and he's got David Pagnotta on, who I know you're a huge fan of, and-

... and they're kind of talking about the '27 pick like it's definitely Boston's.

And basically, he went into saying in a know feel free to pause and read the whole thing if you want but he basically went into saying hey he hasn't made a decision yet the minnesota wild need a decision to be made because they need to sign into a long-term extension and it really sounds like he's going back and forth on a few things here not in particular but we can kind of you know have our assumptions and all that type of stuff but He's basically outlined that he doesn't seem particularly close.

And we have another, you know, report from David Pagnotta as well that apparently they haven't really negotiated anything as well, which is a little worrisome for the Minnesota Wild.

But Casey, what do you think he's waiting for at this point? Because, you know, Cale McCarr just signed a massive contract extension paying him north of $20 million.

Quinn Hughes is in line for pretty much that at only $7.8 million right now.
