David Oyelowo, he's a very good actor, officially makes history as Treasure Island's Long John Silver.

So in the film we have...

David Oyelowo.

David Oyelowo, he plays his former doctor, but he's still in Uganda.

Working at the hospital.

The problem is we're sitting there and we're watching you.

And David Oyelowo, who played one of our great foundational Black American heroes, said, you take a Nigerian accent and And you slow it down.

Well, a southern accent, right? No, not a Nigerian accent.

No, he said you take a Nigerian accent, you slow it

There's

a couple of things I just wanted to say while I had you here.

First, just like how David Oyelowo and Nate Parker have their own site, Foundational Black Americans have their own site as well.

It's called JaroGo.

One other thing I'd like for them to do is somehow tie this all back to the emotional... impact that the first couple of episodes have.

If you can somehow tie this back into like Rashida Jones character and David Oyelowo, the OG sheriff.

I'm not saying you need to give us another descendant theory.

We already got one of those with Jules, but if they could tie it back to that, I think we, we end up with something pretty cool.

Rustin with Coleman Domingo was 14 years.

Bass Reeds, the series I did with Taylor Sheridan, with David Oyelowo, that took 12 years.

Developed as a script and then we translated to the smaller screen and did it as a series.

So I look back at the history of how long it takes to put films together, you know, all the building blocks aside from just the financing, you know, developing the script.

I did a movie about the first seen eye dog in the 80s, which was the debut on the Disney channel called Love Leads the Way, about the first seen eye dog and the boy who was blinded and thought about a German shepherd leading him around.

And everybody thought it was absurd, including the senators, but he's the reason dogs are allowed in hotels and airports and what have you.

So I've always prided myself in telling stories like Desmond Doss' story with Hacksaw Ridge, you know, Bass Reeves about the first black sheriff in our country in the turn of the century with David Oyelowo as a series.

I think that's important to tell movies that matter.

King takes his movement to Selma.

There's a good movie called Selma, where you see David Oyelowo, a black British man, does an excellent job playing Dr. Martin Luther King.

This culminated in a march from Selma to Montgomery for voting rights.

An earlier attempt at that march met violent resistance on, quote, Bloody Sunday.

Ooh, that's such a good movie.
