7:14
Earlier today I spoke with Environment Canada meteorologist David Neal about that and here's the breakdown of what to expect.
7:21
So right now what we're seeing over the last roughly day and a half or so, we've seen some pretty good amounts.
7:28
The higher end of the rainfall has been really more kind of the western half of the island so far.
7:33
So we've seen some rainfall totals ranging anywhere from generally from about 20 to 45 millimetres.
7:40
So far, in terms of our weather stations, ECC stations, Rocky Harbor is up around the 60-millimeter mark right now, and that was really aided today with a couple of thundershowers that went through during the late morning.
7:58
So with that right now, that area of rain is, as we go through tonight and into really through the rest of the day today and into tonight, It's going to be a little bit more pushed towards the eastern half of the island.
8:12
So yeah, we're going to see some periods of time.
11:13
Where's that coming from and how long is it expected to last?
11:13
Looking at the, uh, warning, it, it says that, uh, in parts of, uh, Burgeo, Ramah, it, it could hit as much as ten to fifteen millimeters per hour?
11:23
Uh, that is certainly possible.
11:25
Uh, and we, uh, uh, we have seen a couple of, uh, showers throughout the day today.
11:30
Uh, we are expecting more of the main event, kinda more really over the co- next couple of days, uh, uh, or throughout the early part of today, much more scattered showers.
11:38
But they have been, uh, we have seen, uh, some kinda heavier pockets that have gone through.
11:44
Uh, kinda looking, uh, uh, just as an example, uh, there earlier, Stephenville earlier this morning had a, had an amount about eight millimeters in one hour earlier this morning.
11:54
Uh, so certainly with this type of air mass, very, very humid, uh, you could see, uh, some of those heavier pockets that could produce those double-digit rainfall amounts in an hour.
12:52
I, I guess one of my final questions, uh, this is one that, uh, you're probably watching closely through, uh, Nova Scotia as it made its way more eastward?
6:34
Mm-hmm.
6:35
Something that could scale up, right? Uh, and that was, uh, very important for us.
6:40
At the time when we started, uh, there was a lot of buzz already in pulse field ablation, but no commercial products were yet on the market.
6:48
Uh, any literature that you had in scientific magazines were, uh, c- small case reports, animal clinical studies or so, they weren't really telling us, uh, enough.
6:58
However, I had worked in the same field, uh, 10 years before, and what surprised me back then was the fragmentation of this field, right? So labs, uh, EP labs, they would have, uh, four different navigation and mapping machines.
7:15
They would have a multitude of catheters.
7:18
While catheters could be used on different navigation systems, they still were, were too many.

10 MINS LATER

17:39
Mm-hmm.

38:11
Are we going to get a hot summer this year, David?
38:15
It does look like indications, certainly from our seasonal forecast, that the summer will likely be above the normal in terms of temperature really across the eastern part of the country, including here in our neck of the woods.
38:31
That said, this current one that we're seeing here, yeah, we're seeing the forecast temperatures are quite high, quite extreme for parts of eastern Canada.
38:42
I guess the fortunate part for us here is that we won't quite get the brunt of that this time around.
38:50
Looks like the next couple days, yeah, they'll be warmer than normal, especially through really central and northeastern Newfoundland are the areas likely to see the warmest temperatures.
38:57
Looking at highs tomorrow around 27 with around 30 with humid X.
39:03
But it does look like after that we do see the temperatures kind of moderate a little bit as we get after Canada Day.

Was it? Does it compare differently to other years?
