Dave McCormick

One last topic to touch on here reluctantly.

On Wednesday evening, John Fetterman made a surprise appearance by video to introduce his fellow Pennsylvania senator, Dave McCormick.

Let's watch.

[upbeat music] Big room of Republicans in Dallas.

I'm always gonna reject the extremes and socialism and that anti-American way of life.

I have this opportunity to introduce this great American, a great senator, and yes, he's in a different party, but I'm proud to count him as my great friend.

So for everybody in Dallas, I'm here to introduce Dave McCormick.

[cheering]

How did you? Did you do reporting or you just guessed that?

No, I heard it from someone, and then I noticed that, um, Dave McCormick had a surprise, and I know that they have been hanging out a lot.

And so I thought, "Oh, it's gotta be Fetterman." Um, it just was sort of, you know, putting it together s- from a, from a strategy point of view.

But, uh, but I had heard that it was gonna happen from someone pretty good.

Um, Fetterman introduced his fellow Pennsylvania senator, Dave McCormick, and said he was willing to work with Trump.

I don't know what it meant.

The appearance fueled more speculation that Fetterman might switch parties, but he shut that down.

President Trump had an hour and 45 minute speech.

Uh, everyone's talking about the moment where Senator Fetterman, uh, introduced Senator McCormick.

There was a lot happening, a lot of news being broken, and we're here in the thick of it, bringing it all to you folks.

Just unbelievable.

We got a hell of a show, but one, one, uh, sort of vignette that brings in our first guest is what I think was the biggest news of the convention, was the appearance by, by video of Senator Fetterman- Mm-hmm ... introducing his good friend, Dave McCormick.

... and that anti-American way of life.

Dave McCormick is the kind of senator that gets the job done, and he's going to fight for Pennsylvania.

I'm proud to count him as my friend.

Fetterman, John Fetterman, the Democrat.

He talked about how great his Senate colleague is, Dave McCormick.

Who spoke last night? That was nice.

He praised Donald Trump for all the work he's done for steel workers, stuff like that.

Now, Fetterman said he will remain a Democrat and provide the majority-making vote if his party wins the Senate in November.

Fetterman said, My remarks introduced Dave McCormick as a great American and friend.

We are in different parties, but we are both Team PA.

He continued, We have delivered hundreds of millions of dollars back to Pennsylvania, fought for improved transportation and affordable housing, and the steel way of life.

He said, I'm a lifelong Democrat who votes overwhelmingly with my party and should the Senate flip in November, I will still be the 51st vote that I ran on.

Now it's at least the fifth time in two years that Fetterman has publicly ruled out leaving the party.

In the video recorded in front of a US steel mill, Fetterman introduced Republican Senator Dave McCormick to the convention crowd on September 9th.

He praised McCormick and President Trump over steel.

He was introducing his Republican Senate colleague from Pennsylvania, Dave McCormick.

Yes, I'm a Democrat.

His appearance is stirring fears among Democrats that he might switch parties after the midterms.

Fetterman introduced Republican Senator Dave McCormick in a video calling him a great American and and he criticized Democrats as extremists and expressed support for working with President Donald Trump.

Following the appearance, Fetterman said in a statement that he will not switch parties.

He's been increasingly isolated from his party, supporting Israel's war in Gaza and voting with Republicans on key issues.
