And then you'd have to write all your tools, and then you might be able to have enough time to write some actual software that did something that was quite interesting.

So it was, it was quite an uphill battle to get these machines working.

Secondly, I would say that, um, they were fairly primitive.

Um, so the idea of a screen in of, of itself, um, was a really new idea.

And i- and in fact, most of the interface experience that most people would have would be with a Teletypewriter.

Um, so it was on paper with this clattering, incredibly loud, uh, device, um, that you would type your, uh, request into the computer.
