David Kalat

The beautiful thing about Godzilla is he's already got one of the most iconic silhouettes in cinema history.

Um, I believe it was David Kalat, uh, made a point in his Gidra commentary, I believe, or it was his 54 commentary, where he said that if you take a picture of a generic T-Rex looking dinosaur with spines on its back, and you walk out to anybody in the streets and say, "Hey, whose character is this?" Everybody's gonna say, "It's Godzilla."

Mm-hmm.

Yep.

You actually learn a lot.

Yeah, no, I was gonna say, I was just-- 'cause I was watching, I got the new 4K of Duon, so I was-- they had a, like, a commentary track on it by, like, David Kalat, who's, like, a J-horror historian.

Mm-hmm.

It was crazy the shit I was learning from just from that.
