David Fletcher

He's right up there in the third base ranks this year.

But- Fish on First made a really interesting comparison to David Fletcher, then of the LA Angels, from his five-year extension five years ago in 2021.

He got 26 million over five years.

actually would propose at least that that helped the Kevin Newmans, the David Fletcher's of the world, right? Because those were guys who, if you say why that guy, I would say both of those were fringy regulars is what I would generally describe them as.

But if you said, well, why is that? It's like, because they just don't hit the ball hard enough to be regulars, but Again, all of this is kind of, yes, it's almost kind of by a player-by-player standpoint because those players in those years, the ball carries more, and all of a sudden the ball that was being caught by the outfielder gets over his head.

And so if you turn, let's say, 10 fly ball outs into doubles in a year, that pretty much could transform your year in some way.
