David F. Sandberg

The end.

David Sandberg couldn't figure out how to open the film, so he just used old footage of Anthony LaPaglia in an episode of Without a Trace.

Old standard being played on a record player starts off innocent but will soon be creepy cliche.

You can send your son over tomorrow, Vic.

I'm pretty sure he's gonna be making a few more horror movies.

Um, I was also seeing that, uh, David Sandberg is kind of making his, his way out of the, the shadows again.

So he's gonna be making a horror movie as well, so that's gonna be interesting.

But Welcome to Derry is coming back.

Yes.

Based on the, uh, viral internet short by David Sandberg.

Not David F. Sandberg, David Sandberg.

Yes.

Uh, and we shot in Bulgaria, which was interesting.

Mm-hmm.

Uh, the movie starred David Sandberg, uh, Michael Fassbender-

Yes

[laughs] 'Cause Billy Burke, uh, as we'll discuss, dies before the movie really starts.

So this, this is directed by David F. Sandberg.

It was written by David F. Sandberg and Eric Heisserer.

It is...

It stars Keri Russell, Gabriel Bateman, who was the little boy in this, who is really solid, seems genuinely scared the whole movie, Maria Bello, who is doing something in this movie.

So when they announced that Zach Cregger was making this, I was like, "Ooh, I love this." But I had a bit of reservations in the beginning about it because we already did see a well-established horror director tackle a video game IP.

Uh, David F. Sandberg did Until Dawn.

That was not good.

No, it wasn't.

It's all about the directors.

So going back to our first movie that we produced at Atomic Monster, Lights Out, that was also a YouTube short that David Sandberg had done.

Oh, cool.

And we adapted that with Eric Kaiser writing and turned that into a movie.

like my because my boyfriend's a horror director and he like got signed at cia um because he made a Short for when Annabelle Creation came out, there was like an Annabelle Creation contest.

And like his mentor, David F. Sandberg, was like a YouTube film.

And he was like one of the first.

My

friend's mentor is David F. Sandberg.

Well,

yeah.

With that angle no longer being a possibility, we have what everyone is assuming is some sort of reboot script from Gregory Weidman and Jeff Tock.

These guys wrote for the Dune TV series, Dune Prophecy, and are also writing the script for an upcoming supernatural prison thriller titled Below from director David F. Sandberg.

I'm very excited to see that Below movie.

It sounds like it has a really cool premise behind it.

to stop you right there.

So I had David Sandberg lights out David Sandberg come into my class last night to talk to him about taking a short film to a feature.

And he's from Sweden.

And I was like, so you were making short films in Sweden, but came here to make horror films.

We won't go into our mushy-gushy.

It was directed by David F. Sandberg, written by Gary Dauberman, who also co-wrote the screenplay for It in 2017.

Yes!

Such a good movie.
