Fantasy Hockey Life Ep 498 Nashville Predators with Emma Lingan
V
2:09Victor NunoHOST
They essentially gave Askarov away for almost nothing.
V
2:12Victor NunoHOST
David Edstrom, or Adam Edstrom, isn't really anything interesting.
V
2:16Victor NunoHOST
So, you know, what did they get for that? Not much.
V
2:20Victor NunoHOST
And they do, they did make some shrewd moves, I think.
Training Camp, Prospect Rankings, Nikishin, and RIP Brent Peterson
N
16:31Nick KieserGUEST
They've been missing a lot of that, and especially if he plays center, that would be a nice addition for them.
N
16:37Nick KieserGUEST
But I think ranking-wise, too, David Edstrom, I feel a lot better about him.
N
16:43Nick KieserGUEST
I know that we've had some comments here in our chat throw his name out there.
N
16:48Nick KieserGUEST
David Edstrom, I think, has matured a lot, especially in the last year.
N
16:52Nick KieserGUEST
I think he feels a lot more comfortable in the – faceoff dot in North America it's a lot different on the bigger ice so now that he's been here for over a year he's been able to get acclimated to that and yeah I mean even Nilsson I have Nilsson at 12 because I thought he was a little bit more defensively sound Edstrom at 13 just because I think he has more to prove when he gets back to Milwaukee but I thought they both looked very good and One guy that didn't play in the showcase, but talking about the rankings, Emma, that's in my top 15, but probably barely, is Yoakim Kimmel.
N
17:27Nick KieserGUEST
I think we're going to have a lot of eyes on him.

14:40Tyson ColeHOST
I just thought that that was, uh, [lip smack] that was kind of funny to bring up.
T
14:43Tyson ColeHOST
But like David Edstrom, who had, I think that was what Scott Wheeler's, uh, uh, what Scott Wheeler said, like you had him in 42 and Zach Benson like 123rd or 24th.
T
14:56Tyson ColeHOST
Like David Edstrom had 22 points in the AHL last year.
T
14:59Tyson ColeHOST
Like-

Yeah, exactly.
Rookie Camp Preview: Brady Martin, Tanner Molendyk, Vitali Pinchuk
B
21:30Braden GallHOST
I think Cole O'Hara is in that group.
B
21:32Braden GallHOST
I think David Edstrom is in that group.
B
21:34Braden GallHOST
Uh, I think Andrew Gibson is in that group.
B
21:37Braden GallHOST
I think Felix, uh, Felix Nilsson is in that group.
N
23:24Nick KeezerHOST
I don't think he makes opening night roster, but he will be probably someone that expands upon his 19 goals from last year as well.
B
23:33Braden GallHOST
So the three that I would circle, 'cause I think those are two good ones that I've got as well.
B
23:36Braden GallHOST
I, I think it's Andrew Gibson, David Edstrom, and, and Felix Nilsson.
B
23:39Braden GallHOST
Like, those three guys have been in our conversations about the better prospects.

So he'll be plugged in there.
C
53:22Chad MintonHOST
And then David Edstrom is not to get confused with the other Edstrom that we picked up in the offseason.
C
53:31Chad MintonHOST
Not even going to lie, I thought for a second that's who we were
M
53:33Max GreenbergHOST
referring to, and I didn't realize he didn't make his debut, but it's David Edstrom.
M
53:39Max GreenbergHOST
David Edstrom
C
53:41Chad MintonHOST
is the center prospect.
C
53:44Chad MintonHOST
He was also acquired in a trade from the Predators in August.
C
53:49Chad MintonHOST
Yeah, scar of trade, exactly.

Mm-hmm
S

... roster, you look at the possibility of David Reinbacher and the type of camp he may have and what that means in terms of breaking camp as a Montreal Canadian.
S
6:43Shaun StarrHOST
Uh, the goaltending situation with Dobesh under contract.
M
6:45Marco D'AmicoHOST
Mm-hmm.
S
8:01Shaun StarrHOST
Mm-hmm
M
8:01Marco D'AmicoHOST
... with that said, the rules of eligibility are any player with more than three professional seasons would be eligible.
M
8:10Marco D'AmicoHOST
So David Reinbacher would be eligible, for example.
S
8:13Shaun StarrHOST
Right.
Ep. 83 - The Athletic’s U23 Rankings Are INSANE + NFC North & South Predictions
R
18:15RyanHOST
I only really saw the top 20, then kinda researched some players above him.
R
18:18RyanHOST
But there's two guys that way above him David Edstrom, never heard of him.
R
18:23RyanHOST
First round pick from a few years ago, has never played in the NHL, only has eight goals in the AHL last year, has him ranked 43rd, so almost 100 spots ahead of Zach Benson.
R
18:34RyanHOST
Uh, Charlie Stramel, Minnesota's like top pick.
R
22:45RyanHOST
So I understand-
J
22:46JacksonHOST
Yeah
R
22:46RyanHOST
... that, but again, if you're, if you're basing this off projection why, similar to why fucking David Edstrom is ahead of Zach Benson, I don't get how McKenna is below these...
R
22:56RyanHOST
Fucking Verhoff was drafted ninth overall, eight picks after Gavin McKenna.
Something STRANGE is going on in San Jose...
J
7:29Josh GosseHOST
He had a record 2-3-0, but he was still good enough, again, to be named an AHL All-Star for the second year in a row and named to the AHL Top Prospects team.
J
7:41Josh GosseHOST
But in August of 2024, the Predators decided to trade him San Jose gave up forward David Edstrom and goalie Magnus Krona and a conditional first-round 2025 pick in exchange for Yaroslav Askarov.
J
8:02Josh GosseHOST
So we finally got him in a Sharks sweater.
J
8:06Josh GosseHOST
And in the 24-25 season, when he first came to the Sharks, his first season with the Sharks, he played 13 games, but the Sharks were honestly in a really tough spot back then.

...
C
33:54Cam RobinsonHOST
I understand that you, you're looking at this as a, like, "Oh, uh, who's gonna be the best player at 28?" Y- you know, you've got David Edstrom at 41.
C
34:02Cam RobinsonHOST
Y- there, there's just, there's just no way to justify these rankings for a player that is already in the league and producing at a pace, at a f- at a, uh, not a pace, playing at a 50-point player already, and he's moving.
C
34:13Cam RobinsonHOST
The trajectory is only going up.
C
36:58Chris PetersHOST
And there are ways that players can advance that, and I think in, in Zach Benson's case, it's a hockey sense and it's a compete thing at the same time because the hockey sense is remarkable.
C
37:07Chris PetersHOST
Um, and his anticipation ability and his ability to read the game.
C
37:12Chris PetersHOST
There are going to be things that he physically cannot do on the ice that David Edstrom probably could, but David Edstrom doesn't think the game at that level.
C
37:19Chris PetersHOST
Doesn't think-- And that's not us trying to slight David Edstrom.
