Tell me about why you like working for this, this industry, why coal means something, and why you find it important.

I think for myself on this one, it's ...

I, I see coal as fundamental to so many other industries.

You know, people poke fun at coal in a sense of, like, oh, yes, we have renewables, we have this, we have that.

And it's like, okay, flip side of that is how did you get to that point in the first place? We've got thermal coal, you know, powering half of, half of the country.

We've got, you know, met coal going all over the world to blast furnaces to create steel and create all of this, uh, products that's going into all these different industries all over the world.

So it really is integral to just the whole world, uh, ticking over.

Um, so, like, there's sessions all around the city, and you can always go and hear that, and there's a lot of, like, cross-pollination between the sort of jazz scene and the folk scene.

You know, lots of people do m- multiple things, um, which I quite like in a smaller scene in that I feel like you can be, y- you get a chance to be a bit more versatile 'cause there's not as many players.

Um, yeah, I do wonder about that a lot, what, what would I sound like had I, you know, gone to a different place.

Especially 'cause I think the folk thing has been quite a big thing, both in terms of the jazz that I play, but also I play with quite a few, like, folky singers and stuff like that.
