J-BoHOST

Scott, you joined a band, if I got it right, in 2022, and it's big shoes to fill.
J-BoHOST
1:59
You had to be, in a way, Lonesome Dave on these very familiar hits, Full in the City, My Babe, Slow Ride.
J-BoHOST
2:07
Was it a conscious effort that when you went on stage thinking, okay, I got to make sure that...
J-BoHOST
2:13
You're honoring, I've heard Slow Ride Live.
J-BoHOST
2:14
It sounds great.
J-BoHOST
2:15
You're honoring Lonesome Dave, but it's also you.
J-BoHOST
2:18
In between you and Roger, was there a discussion? How are you going to do this? Or is it just you and that's it? Scott.
Scott HoltGUEST
2:26
um roger was gracious enough to let me figure it out um he's he's patient with me as i bumble my way through life um you know it's a it's a it's a bouncing act because you you do have the the legacy in the in the the history of the band you can't let that down but at the same time we're musicians we're active musicians that are still writing new music and recording new music so you got to keep moving forward too Um, and, and so you, you, you balance it by doing both of those or try to do both of those things.
Roger EarlGUEST
9:36
He owned that part of the stage.
Roger EarlGUEST
9:38
And Lonesome Dave, again, was at the top of his game.
Roger EarlGUEST
9:41
One of the beauties of Dave...
Roger EarlGUEST
9:44
And it's the same with Scott Holt today.
Rob JacobsGUEST
54:09
I wanna...
Rob JacobsGUEST
54:10
But, but, uh, very young and, uh, so Lonesome Dave passed not too long after that.
Randy HulseyHOST
54:16
Mm-hmm.
Rob JacobsGUEST
54:16
And that's his...
Rob JacobsGUEST
54:17
He was Dave Peverett, you know, uh, Lonesome Dave.
Rob JacobsGUEST
54:21
So-
Randy HulseyHOST
54:21
Yeah
Roger EarlGUEST
1:59
He's taken six of my fellow musicians, but we're still a rock and roll band.
Roger EarlGUEST
2:04
And, uh, it's all about the music, you know? Uh, somebody asked me the other day about that, and somebody was complaining somewhere because we don't have Lonesome Dave in the band anymore.
Roger EarlGUEST
2:15
I know that, but we're like, you know, like, um, sports teams.
Roger EarlGUEST
2:20
The, the Yankees, I'm a Yankees fan.
Dave FarraHOST
2:39
... was complaining the other day-
Roger EarlGUEST
2:40
Right
Dave FarraHOST
2:40
... that you don't have Lonesome Dave in the...
Dave FarraHOST
2:41
Uh, he, he passed away 26 years ago.
Roger EarlGUEST
18:29
We were basically the house band.
Roger EarlGUEST
18:32
And, uh, we were, we were jamming at one, one point, and, uh, John Lee says to Lonesome Dave, he said, "You know the boogie?" And Dave said, "Do I know the boogie?"
Dave KinchenHOST
18:46
[laughs]
Roger EarlGUEST
18:48
So, uh, yeah, that was, um...
Jason ReedGUEST
12:02
So then when I think I was a junior in high school, my dad brought me and my brothers probably in the mid 80s, mid to late 80s, brought us into Philly to see Foghat.
Jason ReedGUEST
12:12
So we see Foghat and I see Dave Peverett up there, who's probably my dad's age at the time.
Jason ReedGUEST
12:18
He was about in his mid 40s.
Mike GendlerHOST
12:20
Okay.
