You're better than me, blah, blah, blah.

So they get to Jesus, and he confronts them and just says, what were you guys talking about? Of course he knew.

And they get quiet.

They sit down, and he says, if you want to be first, you must be last and servant to all.

So they're having an identity conversation about what it is to be great, what it is to be the best.

And his simple response is, well, it's really about service.

And so when you think about that, he gave them the answer to identity, to understanding who they are, who God called them to be and how he called them to live.

But this is important, I think, to keep in mind.

[laughs]

So another, another leader and I had a bunch of these Scouts, and we get on the boat, [clears throat] and the boat captain was a great young guy, and he looked just like Vincent Van Gogh, so we named him Vinny.

And, um, he said, the very first day, he said, "All right, guys.

My job is to keep you from accidentally killing yourself.

Your job is to learn to run the boat." And he said, "The quality of your experience is gonna be how well you adapt to learning to run this boat." And I thought, "Man, what a great analogy for raising kids and life." You know, really preparing them to run the boat, preparing them to handle the things in life that we handle as adults, and maybe even better than we handle them as adults.

And so that's kind of the framing of, uh, uh, of really looking at how I got into the space of really the messaging of how, how we need to raise sturdy kids.

And I, you know, and as you know, I consult with school systems.
