Dave Limp

They're acting in a very un-Blue Origin-like manner.

Um, using the crane to put the rocket in place in the launch tower, I think is not great for rapid reuse, but it is great if you are trying to get back launching as soon as possible, and I think that's clearly the mandate from Jeff Bezos, um, and Dave Limp to, to Blue Origin.

They are moving, they're moving more quickly certainly than I ex- expected them to.

I'm still pretty confident that they're not going to launch this year, but it would not be shocking to me if the launch pad is very nearly ready by the end of the year and, and they're launching pretty, pretty quickly in early, early 2027.

So there's room.

I want to give a shout out to their CEO, David limp, because, uh, The first, I have a lot of respect for Rob Meyerson, but when Meyerson was in charge, they weren't pursuing outside contracts.

And the second guy that I can't remember his name, he also didn't pursue outside contracts very much.

So Limp coming in here and saying, we are going to get commercial contracts because they're available and we can do the job.

You know, Bezos' Blue Origin is a, is a more stable place to be, whereas Amazon, you're gonna feel like s- you know, a piece of a disposable a- a- appendage.

The other sort of leadership factor here is Dave Limp, right? So he was the devices chief at Amazon.

He's now the CEO of Blue Origin.

How wide does this sort of Amazon alumni network reach at Blue?

[audience applauding] And I have to say, one of the reasons that we are leading is because of the incredible commercial space industry that has grown up in and around NASA here in Texas and across the country.

And I wanna point to you something that I think we're gonna look back as a turning point in space.

Earlier this year, the IPO of SpaceX, the largest IPO ever, made at least six new billionaires, made over 400 centimillionaires, and made over 4,400 new millionaires.
