Yeah
16:59
...
16:59
I can't take £3 million." He said, "I'll phone you tomorrow." So I said, "Okay." So I pho- I rang my son, who was at Blackburn at the time, and I said, "Have, is there any center forwards there in the, in the junior sides?" And he said, "There's a lad called James Beattie." He said, "He's really decent, Dad, and everything else." I said, "Okay." So, um, when Roy phoned up, we were in a board meeting and the chairman, Rupert, said to me, "I'll let you deal with it." So I said, "Okay." So he said, um, "I'll give you £4.5 million, Roy." And I went, "I can't sell that, I can't sell him for that." I said, "You know, he's scoring goals.
17:37
Uh, maybe repla- I've got to go out and find a replacement." "Oh, I have the replacement.
17:40
I had David Hast coming in." So, "Oh, they had David Hast." So I said, "Uh, I'm not sure, Roy." And he went, "Tell me what you want." So I went, "£5.5 million, and you've got a young lad in your reserves called James Beattie." I said, um, "Would you throw him in on the deal?" And I don't think Roy knew who he was.
17:56
No. Yeah.
17:57
And he said, "Yeah, okay." So we did that.
18:01
And then 18 months later, um, Kevin was having a really bad time, and they wanted Egle Austin's dad off me.
21:01
Tell us about that shift and how we can stop wasting money on our advertising going into this AI revolution.
21:10
Yeah.
21:11
So a couple of things before I answer the question.
21:15
I do want to say that, you know, your ad spend or your overall marketing is is always in toddler mode.
21:23
You have to look at it that way.
21:25
For those out there that have had kids, toddler mode to me is, it's a Tommy touch-all stage where Tommy's just touching everything, flipping over things.
21:34
And as a parent, you got to watch because they may grab something and poke themselves in the eye or something, or trip down the stairs.
25:15
to.
2:13
Yeah.
2:13
And, and, um, I found myself at the lowest point mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
2:20
I was e- exhausted, and I just didn't like who I was, and, um, I really turned to God and, um, you know, just understanding, like, w- the way I was doing things, Jan, wasn't working and I needed something else.
2:37
And, um, and so I just asked the Lord, "What do you wanna do with my life? Because this isn't working." And you know what's interesting of that? What really came back was I really wanted to be used by the Lord, and what came back is, "You're not usable."

24:01
Okay
24:01
... you gotta start somewhere.
24:03
Um, and, and I would say this too.
24:05
This is, this has crippled me over the years personally, 'cause I've s- I've started different brands, and I've asked the Lord, "Is this what I should be doing? Is this the future I'm fighting for?" And a lot of times it comes back, "No." So I will say this, if you have no budget, but you have a great product, service, and message, whether it's a book, whether it's a ministry, an organization- Think of it like this.
4:46
Can you just kind of give us an overview of how all of that took place and why you landed the plane on helping people with marketing and branding and their visions?
5:00
The short answer, Daylene, is except for the grace of God, there go I.
5:08
This is my 25th year of owning Emma's Good.
5:11
We're a Christian advertising agency in Raleigh, North Carolina.
5:15
A vertical is working with Christian entrepreneurs, men and women of God that have a vision from the Lord, whether that's a ministry or a secular business.
5:26
owned by, you know, Christian family or couples or, you know, whatever the structure is.
5:34
I never would have dreamed I've been here 20 years ago, 25 years ago.

How would you define vision?
