God knows, because they're younger than me and I couldn't remember a lot of the names, but Dave Gregory could recite the whole of Tony Hancock.

Sunday afternoon the Tony Hancock thing stone me what a life and those kind of things and all those things came to light because in the Dukes of Stratosphere one of the first things we did was make up a sound effects tape and so we we had the obligatory seagulls seagulls forward seagulls backwards sound same which is one of the things that Pink Floyd taught me when we did seagulls on on echoes you know on the metal record they sound the same backwards as what they do forward so one of the first things we did was was compile things like churchill's radio speeches played backwards and all these different crazy sound effects and i i labeled it all and banded it all so i knew where when they call yeah let's have that we need a bit of that kind of thing but when it came to the mix we would just leave it running.

It's probably because we'd known each other.

I mean, we'd known each other for, what, eight years up to then.

And I got to work with Gregsy, with Dave Gregory, who was great, who I hadn't worked with, you see.

And he, of course, knew everything about insides of Mellotrons and that kind of stuff and what guitars were used.

Well, that's Dave Gregory.

He was basically the third member of XTC.

Main members would be Andy Partridge, who's a great guitar player himself, and then Colin Moulding, who is one of my favorite bass players of all time.

Unbelievable.

And Dave Gregory was more like the utility guy, or is.

And he's still around.

He's playing stuff.

I'm probably severely underestimating how many albums he has under his belt and the standard is always really high.

That song, he says, features Dave Gregory and Colin Moulding from XTC for the first time together on tape since XTC split.

We might have to get BBC Verify on the line just to double check that.

But Anton is tight with the XTC boys.
