Arizona Senate Republicans are putting their highly publicized investigation into Governor Katie Hobbs on hold until after the November election.

Capital Media Services reporter Howard Fisher says Senator David Farnsworth, who now oversees the inquiry, wants staff to review materials already collected by the Arizona House before proceeding.

The investigation centers on whether political contributions totaling $400,000 were connected to a nearly 60% increase in state payments to Sunshine Residential, a company that provides housing for foster children.

Attorney General Chris Mays previously concluded there was no evidence Hobbs influenced the payment decision.
