She had to write like a defense.

I think it was in the, the computer case of the ACM, maybe it was in DataMation.

I can't remember the venue, right? because it had been pointed out as a failure because people didn't understand the context that the reason that the Apollo computer had to trip those alarms was because it had been used improperly.

It was used in a configuration that it wasn't supposed to.

It could calculate possible moves quickly, but ultimately it just followed the rules Weisenbaum had written for it.

One key thing that he did, which is, to my mind, the most important and totally unknown thing about Weisenbaum, his first article was actually in a trade journal, which doesn't exist anymore, called Datamation.

The paper is titled, How to Make Computers Appear Intelligent.

And that paper walks through this Gamoku program.

So those periodicals from the Association of Computing Ma- uh, for Computing Machinery, those are, like, very common periodicals that lots of people read.

But there was this actual magazine called Datamation, D-A-T-A-M-A-T-I-O-N, that was a very prominent, like, trade magazine at the time, and a lot of things are, like, are in there.

And so I happened to have to read through those.

As you'll see in the talk, uh, I had to read through those to, like, dumpster dive to find this one advertisement that Edsger Dijkstra, like, like, of the Dijkstra algorithm, like that Dijkstra, uh-

Trash, we should

... to that.

Uh, so anyway, in this, this magazine, uh, like, Dijkstra actually refers to an advertisement, derogatorily refers to an advertisement in this magazine, Datamation, and that, that's in the talk.
