Uh, dash cams were made for driver safety, but they have inadvertently created a whole new entertainment genre, and that is idiots driving around recklessly so they have something to post on social media.

[laughs] I watch them.

I'm, I'm the viewer that watches them.

so that they can post their goofy stuff up on social media.

It's not just teenagers.

A lot of, uh, construction workers and truck drivers, they have the dash cams too, and you'd be amazed at what people run across every day in this country [laughs] on these roads.

It's very entertaining, if not scary most of the time, but it's quite entertaining too.

Yeah.

I'm a big believer in dash cams.

As am I. I think everybody should have one.

They're cheap enough now and easy enough to install on almost anything.

Now, a little bit of history.

Dash cams.

You know where the use of dash cams actually started big time? Russia.

Who would have thought? Russia.

Now, the technology has been around forever.

It happens here, too, but not like it was in Russia.

So that was 2013.

And then what ended up happening? Why did dash cams explode? Because in Russia, I think it was 2013, this huge meteorite came down and a dash cam or several dash cam cameras picked it up.

It can show the amount of physical damage.

If somebody has dash cam, now a lot of folks have these dash cams in their cars, that can be very compelling evidence, especially if one of the people in the crash is telling a different story.

If one of them is changing the story up from what it was, that dash cam footage can help to tell the truth, right?

How important are witness statements? You mentioned that we could possibly take our own when we have our phones right there with us.

A lot of people fight.

They're not good at it.
