The tech companies and the social media platforms are not doing nearly enough.

They are part of the problem in the sense that there are false narratives that are spread through social media sites.

And there was a time five years ago when some of the tech companies actually had a policy to take down content that was clearly found to be deceptive, fraudulent, or manipulative.
