they ended up doing enough to be able to, like you said, squeak out a win.

Well, and that is why, like so much of the preseason, we spend talking about guys like Darnay Holmes or A.J. Woods or Sidney Brown or these newcomers to a roster.

And a big part of this offseason for Atlanta was elevating the floor and kind of adding some of those depth pieces.

And I think we saw Wednesday night why that is, because you need to, the defensive line I think has been a great example of this over the last couple of seasons, is having that depth to be able to not only mix and match your guys, but if anybody has to go down, you feel like you've got a capable group behind them to step right up.

I mean, it was like when we drafted A.V.O. Terrell and you watched him at Clemson, you were like, oh, this guy's definitely starting in this secondary.

No offense to Mike Hughes and Billy Bowman and Darnay Holmes and all those guys, but like...

You know, it's one of those things where it's like, yeah, this guy's going to get on the field.

The only thing that's going to stop him from getting on the field is injuries.

It feels like Sidney Brown specifically has kind of been used as this chess piece that they can use as kind of one of these alternative defensive backs.

Darnay Holmes is kind of in that mix as well, but I feel like his spot has kind of fallen a little bit from where he was during the summer, like before training camp started.

He was kind of the primary nickel, and now he's kind of maybe more of the true backup if Avion Terrell were to get hurt or something like that.

Uh, and I want to also shout out like kale London as being listed as a starter.

They also kept Carlos Allen Jr., who was a really nice UDFA, really surprising pickup.

Darnay Holmes is here if they need someone to fill in in the slot, you know, if anything happens to the starters.

But mostly I want to talk about my son Khalid Kareem returning.

All right, fair enough.

Now, the slot cornerback that we're always interested in, Darnay Holmes, the former Giant, was getting a lot of the starting slots at the snap.

Did I say that right? Starting snaps in the slot, something along those lines.

So you would expect that if he's doing that a lot through the preseason, that he's going to be your starting slot.

They also added 15 players to their practice squad, some of the notables.

They brought back corner Colby Bryant, running back Tyler Goodson, running back Cash Jones, wide receiver Juice Wells, and cornerback Darnay Holmes.

Now I'll remind you, just because the Falcon 53-man roster is set for now, doesn't mean they can't again continue to tweak it, leading into next Tuesday in their 4 o'clock deadline to have it set for Week 1.

So...
