You know, Amazon, I think, uh, you could easily make the cynical argument, which I think is probably valid, that Amazon didn't want that, you know, taken away from them, right? Like, 'cause they use that for tracking information and all that.

Do cases for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max fit iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max? It seems to depend who you ask.

MacRumors highlights a lengthy review of the latest iPhones from Daring Fireball's John Gruber.

If you put the case question to Apple, the official answer is no.

According to MacRumors, Apple said the camera plateau on the iPhone 18 Pro model is ever so slightly thicker this year.

he posted some information from a developer named david smith who makes an app called widget smith and widget smith allows you to make all sorts of widgets that you can't make on ios and he put the percentages of people who were using the different devices and um The most popular was the iPhone 7 at 7.2%, the iPhone 17 Pro Max at 5.9%, the iPhone 17 Pro at 5.8%, the iPhone 17e at 0.6%, and the iPhone Air at 0.3%.

I reviewed it.

Um, that review did pretty well, in part because John Gruber picked it up on Daring Fireball, and the app blew up and became this big thing.

And, um, the last time they updated the app was about nine years ago, and it doesn't work on iOS 27, or it didn't work.

But I made my own version.

You may have heard last week that iPhone Duo will work with Apple Pencil.

Did you hear, though, that it won't work with Apple's best pencil? Both MacRumors and Daring Fireball speculated on that.

The one that will work is the $79 Apple Pencil with USB-C, while the $129 Apple Pencil Pro will not.

Both sides figure the lack of Pro Pencil support is down to the Duo not having the same magnetic surface as devices that do support Apple Pencil Pro.

While MacRumors points out that that would leave no way to charge the stylus, Daring Fireball sees charging as the least of the problems.

The lack of magnetic interface means one couldn't even pair the Pencil with the Duo.

The way Daring Fireball sees it, the bottom line is that Apple's entire pencil compatibility story remains a mess.
