They intentionally walk Pete Alonzo to load the bases with no outs for Gunnar Henderson against the lefty Danny Young, which was a good call by Walt Weiss, the Braves manager.
C
31:53Connor NewcombHOST
So Gunnar Henderson's up, bases loaded, no outs, and a 2-2 game in the bottom of the 10th.
C

At worst, you're like, if Gunnar strikes out, you still get Taylor Ward up with a chance to hit a fly ball and give you the win.

I, I'm hopeful that he gets a game with the Big League club in this final week, at least one just to kinda tune him up, but we'll see how the Braves are gonna handle him, 'cause he could be a huge piece for the Braves in their postseason, potential postseason success.

Taylor wants to know, what's your favorite walk-up song from a Braves player?
J
42:16Jesús CanoGUEST
You know, Danny Young used to have the best one, but I discovered it wasn't Danny Young who picked it.
J
42:21Jesús CanoGUEST
It was somebody on the Braves.
J
42:23Jesús CanoGUEST
Not the Braves.
L

yeah danny young says waste of time a division for people that can't make weight or too fat tokaru says the solution justin should be dropping cruiser back to 190 pounds and not adding anything in that case if we're coming that 10 pounds down from heavyweight is there a need for a bridge of weight or some kind of bridge between cruiser and and heavy because if you're looking at say someone's weighing in at the the lower end of the uh heavyweight division at the tokaru suggestion at 191 195 even they could be going in against these behemoths like de juan callaway is coming in at like
J
18:21JustinPANELIST
562 i'll put it this way i use his name wilder did it for years he coming at 218 212 he did it for years i mean you could do it if but I don't like the bridge.
J

I always thought that was stupid.

But it takes a long time for it to warm to another division.
D

And pretty much agreeing with what Justin said there, It just, it's going to be a hard sell.
D

But look, Danny Young could be my dad talking, you know, like all these divisions that can't make weight or don't want to train properly.
D

You know, that's a lot of people used to speak in the 60s or 70s when all these new light middles or light welters turned up.

Ryan? Ryan? Well, game two, Gwinnett wins 3-1.
R

Quick notes I had, Chucky Robinson with two RBIs, Danny Young, his first save in AAA with one inning pitch, and Roldy Munoz, who I've been really enjoying what he's been doing lately.
R
8:40RyanHOST
Two innings pitch, one hit, no walks, which is huge for Roldy, and three strikeouts.
R
8:45RyanHOST
He's lowered his AAA ERA down to 3.59%.

More along the lines of traditional, you know, three to five type of player, type of pitcher itself.
G

unfortunate what happened to him in the majors I think it just left a taste in some people's mouth and thinking that he's not this you know really well-rounded pitcher but he is and now he's got you know what looks like potentially plus velocity on the fastball which will only help his stock moving forward so I'm looking forward to seeing him this week and I really want really looking forward to see how he enters next season if he's pitching with the same level of confidence if the mechanics are still holding up and to see if he adds on anything else because he threw six to seven pitches over the course of the entire season is that going to be him moving forward or do you think he's found what works for him and that's what he's going to move with in 2027 so a lot to be seen but you have to like the steps that he's taken this year
B

absolutely next we got Roldy Munoz who threw an inning two strikeouts and Danny Young three strikeouts and one inning Tyler Uberstein A guy who was kind of interesting whenever we traded for him in the Boston, in the Eli White trade to Boston.
B
38:38BenHOST
He's been pretty solid so far for the Braves at AAA.
