What's interesting about the movie is the filmmaking, which is basically a couple molecules away from being an arthouse horror movie.

he shot it on digital and then ran the footage back through 16 millimeter processing so it has this scuzzy look that's meant to resemble kind of old vhs tapes and the era of content when this show would basically lure unsuspecting alleged child sex offenders into their doom right and actually in the press notes for the movie they noted that one of the reference points was one of my favorite movies, Ivan's Ecstasy from Bernard Rose with Danny Houston as this drug-addled Hollywood agent in Los Angeles, which was shot on a raw, unpolished digital video style.

So I do, I appreciate the bravura filmmaking that's going on here.

And that's why I ultimately liked the movie.

But also the fact that while she had to have certain moments where she kind of had to step up, there was such a safety net of great supporting talent around her from...

You know, from Chris Pine to Connie Nielsen to Robin Wright to Danny Houston, you know, like there are multiple people there to kind of go ahead and pad the fall.

Something that I think is very underrated is Lily Aspel, who plays young Diana.

She does a hell of a job in that movie.

Yeah, I mean, it's been reduced by a lot.

Where we walked was actually closer to like Chinatown and I think Houston.

We were in that area a lot.

And those areas are still a little messy.

I think the quality is certainly very good.

Guy Pearce is great as Charlie Burns.

And I think Danny Houston's kind of, I don't know, he's underrated.

He winds up getting all these like shitty movies, especially during this period of time.

And one scene, I think that really hits home.

And I think it's a great world building too, is when he goes to see his cousin, Danny Houston, who's like this big rich guy.

That's like the head of like the arts in the UK.

And Clive Owen straight up asks him like, why do you care about all this stuff? If we know that in a hundred years, no one's going to see it.

So in this movie, he's a police captain from the UK who's come to Australia to sort of try and civilize this land, which is quite a theme.

And three Irish brothers, played by Guy Pearce, Danny Houston, and I can't remember who the other one is, they have committed some heinous crime, raped and killed people.

So Ray Winston's character has managed to capture two of the brothers, But the third brother, the oldest one, has gone into hiding and he's asked the middle brother, Guy Pearce, to go and find him and kill him, keeping the youngest brother as hostage and giving him a date when the youngest brother is going to be hung.

for his crime.

A really good cast.
