Um, Danny Dorling, a professor of, of geography at Oxford University, dug into this, um, somewhat after the event, going, uh, sort of three years after the event, going back to twenty nineteen, and found that in large part, [chuckles] the question of why Wales voted to leave the U-- EU can be answered by the number of retired English people who had moved across the border.

Let's have a little think about that.

About twenty-one percent of people living in Wales were born in England.

So if you look at the more genuinely Welsh-speaking areas, especially the Welsh-speaking ones that did not-- especially the Welsh-speaking ones, they did not want to leave the EU.
