We kick off with our first story at Belfast in the dawn of the 19th century, when I'm joined by Jake Douglas as the Marquess of Londonderry, Cilom Carragher as Lord Byron and Percy Shelley, Danny Cunningham as Dr Bankhead and Paul Storrs as a coroner.

Under King George III, Belfast in the north of Ireland had been a city known for its radical politics, one of the most prominently anti-slavery cities in the British Empire, a birthplace for many forms of Irish republicanism, and a place that held street parties to celebrate the fall of the Bastille in 1789.

But by the time George IV became king in 1820, that had changed, and Belfast, still with its predominantly Protestant population, had evolved rapidly from radicalism to conservatism.

piss.'" We move to Chapter Two, A Letter from Carnlough, where we're joined by Calim Carragher as John Martin, Danny Cunningham as John Mitchell, Colm Doran and Paul Storrs as journalists, and Ashley Montgomery as Maggie McKinlay.

It's two decades later, and in 1845, a letter arrived in Belfast for the current Lady Londonderry.
