Daniel Wallace

Sitting firmly at number one is the 2003 fantasy drama Big Fish.

Big Fish is based on the 1998 novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions by Daniel Wallace.

The screenplay was written by John August, and the cast is simply phenomenal.

So good.

We've established that in Big Fish, Tim Burton created his absolute best adaptation precisely because he was actively grieving his own parents.

Yeah.

He took his real-life pain, his real-life unresolved issues with his father, and poured them directly into Daniel Wallace's fictional characters.

It begs a fascinating question about the nature of art.

...

Kevin J. Anderson and Daniel Wallace.

There's only two kind of high school kids that could have drew this, all right?

[laughs]
