Mike CrowleyGUEST
Like if you're gonna make a movie about a bad person, let's say like there will be blood.
Mike CrowleyGUEST
There still was like this small human angle to Daniel Plainview where he cared and loved about his son, but at the same time, he kind of utilized his son to sell himself.
Mike CrowleyGUEST
Here, we don't really have like any angle where you feel bad for the guy in any way.
Mike CrowleyGUEST
Like the most you get is like him saying, oh, you know, when I was a kid, I grew up and I wanted to be someone and be something.
Matt RollerGUEST
Dan Stevens plays Dr. Slashface, a headless, uh, just like...
Matt RollerGUEST
What would you call him? He's kind of Daniel Plainview adjacent.
Matt RollerGUEST
Um-
Sonny BunchHOST
Well, I was gonna say, yeah, he's...

I will also say I was scrubbing the cast of this, and it looks like Kevin J. O'Connor, who plays a character named Sammy DeSoto in this film, is the actor who plays the brother of Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood.
Ben LawhornHOST
So what's your nomination?
Ethan SimiHOST
Okay.

Rob MoriartyHOST
You've never done the Daniel Plainview?
George WheelerPANELIST
No, I don't play with the anus.
George WheelerPANELIST
I, I'm scared of poo.

It stars Daniel Day-Lewis, Paul Dano, Kevin J. O'Connor, Sir- uh, Ciarán Hinds, and Dylan Fraser.
NickHOST
The film follows silver miner turned oil, oil man Daniel Plainview, played by Day-Lewis, as he embarks on a ruthless quest for wealth during the California oil boom in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
NickHOST
It has often been considered one of the greatest films of the 21st century and of all time.
NickHOST
I'm- it's the only one I'm...

MattHOST
He works for the box.
NickHOST
Wow.
MattHOST
Um, gave this movie five stars and a heart, and wrote, "If they made this movie today, then Daniel Plainview would just say that he's a vampire born in 1601."
NickHOST
[laughs] I got, I got that reference.
Alison WillmoreHOST
Right.
Richard LawsonHOST
Uh, he's an oil man, much like Daniel Plainview.
Richard LawsonHOST
Uh, and he is living this sort of grotesquely articulated, uh, sort of um, parody of an oil man's life.
Richard LawsonHOST
I mean, there's just, uh, you know, animal carcasses on the wall, mirrors made of deer antlers.
Ben VerschoorHOST
What if instead of doing a George Bush type, what if he...
Ben VerschoorHOST
if Tom Cruise tried to recreate Daniel Day-Lewis' Daniel Plainview performance from There Will Be Blood? [laughs]
Steven SantanaHOST
Oh, that, that would be worthwhile.
Steven SantanaHOST
Um, especially if he got the voice down.
Seth Grahame-SmithGUEST
We were joking before this.
Seth Grahame-SmithGUEST
It's like there's a little bit of a Daniel Plainview.
Seth Grahame-SmithGUEST
It's like, you know-
