I have to report that Massachusetts has been robbed in the list of the union's 50 worst governors.

Mara Healy did not win in a landslide, number 50.

Kathy Hochul of neighboring New York is number 50.

This is not, by the way, and this is so important, this is not through her campaign accounts.

You know, all, just so you understand, all elected officials, they have their official, like Governor McKee, I'll use him as an example, he has the official Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee accounts for social media, you know, X, and then also Facebook and so forth.

But then they have the campaign account, which is their personal account.

And so they put out, you know, here we are campaigning.

And just so you understand, for instance, with Governor McKee, when, well, he's no longer running, but anyone, you know, James DeOsa, the general treasurer, he doesn't post on his official general treasurer account that he's out canvassing, you know, running for reelection, blah, blah, blah.

It's all official business of the general treasurer.

With Lieutenant Governor Sabina Matos, she put out that video that you can see on dipietro.com. She put that out on her Lieutenant Governor of Rhode Island account.

But it's so beyond the pale.

My question has been for some time now.

A listener called in and said, you know, I drive by the gantries all the time, and we're spending money on upgrading and then prepping to, you know, under Dan McKee's watch, which runs out in January.

His plan was to continue the truck tolling program, spend the $29 million on upgrading the truck toll gantries and putting the back office into play with the billing, etc.

And then all three of you who are the gubernatorial candidates have said, I'm not going to continue with the truck toll program if I win.

So my question today is, have you spoken to the McKee administration? Does it make sense to talk to the McKee administration and say, hold off and see what happens when the new governor comes in?

So I have not reached out to the governor for any purpose at this point.

You would think that with what appears to be unanimity between the three candidates for governor that they would not implement the tolls, that Governor McKee would save the state the money that is now being spent on the tolls.

I remain committed to never turning on those truck tolls because they are a regressive tax On pretty much everything that we buy anywhere, most of it arrives by truck, and all those costs will be passed along to us.
