Daniel Marinov

He had a very impressive routine.

Daniel Marinov was a little bit lower.

Rings is not his strongest.

But I was actually quite surprised with Yakubov's 12.566.

So that is what happened.

[beep] He is the athlete that I feel like for World Gymnastics too struggled the most with stamina.

And, you know, World Gymnastics too, they have these two really fantastic athletes in Arseny Dunkinow and Daniel Marinov.

But what I'm noticing is they're lacking maybe a little bit of depth and backfill in who they're able to put up for a full team, especially with Alexander Kartsev being injured right now.

In terms of the all-around competition, it was a juicy one for sure.

So coming in, I felt it probably was going to be between Arseny Dakhno, Ilya Kovtun, Joe Fraser, and Daniel Marinov.

And following the second round of qualifying, Dakhno and Marinov were in 1-2 with Kovtun and Fraser to go.

So Joe was doing so well in competition until he went too far.

So Ilya Kovtun made history as the first Croatian to win gold in the all-around championship.

Now, it wasn't without some amount of awkward either.

Ilya finished rings fairly early in the rotation, and so they put him, you know, in the middle of the chairs where they have the video on, like, the reaction of, oh, like, who's going to get the highest score? And it ended up that Arseny Dunkno and Daniel Marinov were on either side, and they were just kind of, like, chatting around him as, like, Kovtun's just, like, sitting there straight.

So it did look a little bit awkward, I'm not going to lie.
